The CTE photographic education provides innumerable career pathway is considering technology and digital media are embedded in almost every industry in the workforce. Doing what matters identifies photography occupations belonging to the industries of the technologies/digital media sector (emergent). A photographic and education is changed immensely since the days of simply learning to operate a camera. The Fullerton College CTE professional photography program require students to thoroughly master a myriad of software applications, to operate a wide variety of technological equipment, and to be able to both decern and apply their photographic knowledge to a multitude of industries. Within the new skill sets that are learned in our present day CTE professional photography program students are able to obtain a vast range of successful workforce outcomes.

We anticipate that a 100% increase in the quantity of certificates and degrees awarded would be obtained with additional funding for promotion and marketing. Students searching for a vocational career path in photography have little to no means by which to find our program. The photography program does not have any web presence, is not listed in any outside student periodicals or publications, has never had any press attention, and has limited promotional material. We need to hire a marketing person, on a temporary basis, to promote and establish the presence of the Fullerton College professional photography program. With added promotion we will be able to recruit more students and increase the number of students in our CTE professional photography program.

For the Precision Machining and the Metrology program we propose combination of two certificate programs. One program will focus on Metrology (Metrology is a scientific study of measurement) and the other program will focus on Precision Machining (with an emphasis on the Automatic Swiss Style Lathe). The Metrology certificate program is an introduction to Metrology emphasizing the theory and proper use of dimensional equipment, collection/statistical treatment of data, blueprint reading and computer aided equipment. This number is based on the fact that Metrology is a unique and nationally recognized field. The Precision Machining program will emphasize the Automatic Swiss Style Lathe typle machine (commonly known as a screw machine) which performs a variety of tasks with one or more multiple spindles. These machines are used to produce custom parts from stock metal or other materials. The expected potential CTE student population will be served by these two programs combined could be as many as 40 -75 per year for the next several years. We expect this to continue as the push for re-shoring of manufacturing products and goods increases.
