Narrative

The construction program is in the process of revitalization in order to create a single-ladder that leads to employment, transfer, apprenticeships, general contractor licensing. The employment needs at the local and regional levels are currently unmet, and construction companies and the public sector have a significant shortage of workers. Therefore, the investment in the construction program is in line with the SWP and the local needs. And toward that end we are proposing the purchase of tools and equipment to give student experience with equipment that they will encounter in the field. Industry representatives have consistently complained that students from colleges and universities may know the science, but lack in implementation, most especially use of high-tech equipment.
